Nemo Spike Tent Review | The Lightest Tent Ever

Nemo Spike Tent Review | The Lightest Tent Ever

I’ve already talked about my new favorite tent on here (the Nemo Tracker), but I also had the chance to try out their super-minimalist, ultralight shelter…the Spike. The Nemo Spike is a single walled, one person, trekking pole supported tent. Coming in at 1lb. 13oz., this is one of the lightest fully enclosed shelters available today. The Tracker came out a couple years ago and got some pretty bad press for major condensation issues (a common complaint in a single-wall tent), but they redesigned some features to try and mitigate that problem. First Lite Hunting Clothes | Is Merino Wool Worth the Price?

First Lite Hunting Clothes | Is Merino Wool Worth the Price?

Quality gear won’t make animals walk out and surrender to you like the French in WWII, but it can mean the difference between staying out another day, riding out a rainstorm so you can hunt those magical moments after it passes, or heading back to the truck early because you’re just too cold, wet, and miserable to keep going. More time in the field = more opportunities with animals = greater chance of success…it’s math. So, I bit the bullet and finally invested in a full set of legit, top of the line hunting gear from First Lite. I spent six days straight in these clothes, putting in about 40 miles and more elevation gain/descent than I even want to think about. So, the big question: IS FIRST LITE CLOTHING WORTH THE MONEY???

Spot Hogg Wiseguy Archery Release | Gear Review

For the last six years, I have continued shooting the same budget release I bought when I first started bowhunting. I’ve upgraded my bow three times since then, but never stopped to really consider if my inexpensive Cabela’s brand release might be negatively impacting my accuracy. But, once you start looking into higher-end releases, the sticker-shock can scare you back to your old release in a hurry. Is it really worth it to drop well-north of $100 (minimum) for a high-quality release? In the case of the Spot Hogg Wiseguy…ABSOLUTELY!
